Air fresheners, anyone?
On the last day of 2008, I did something I seldom do, which is buying something from the disabled. On the way to the MRT station, there are a number of people selling packets of tissues to the passersby. They are either disabled or in their seventies. Never once I did to stop down and buy the tissues from them. To come to think of it, I’ve never gave money to those lying on the middle of the walkway at pasar malam, unlike Pei Shan. Well, she’s always a kind-hearted person.
Back to the story. The incident happened at my sis’ place. While I was getting ready to go to Expo to meet WC, the door bell rang. Through the peephole, I saw an unknown man. Reluctantly, I opened the door. The middle-aged guy starts to talk about air freshener which he’s selling for $3.50 each. Gosh, is he a salesman? Then he said his right hand got stroke… blah… blah…
So, in the end, I bought 3 air fresheners from him for $10. Hope he’s not a swindler. I can feel the sincerity in him, unless he’s faking it.
By the way, is this considered as a donation? Talking about donation, the biggest amount of money I’ve given is to World Vision. I’ve also attended the 30-hours Famine Camp few years ago. Since then, I have an aim of sponsoring a child when I’m financial independent. Anyway, guys, if you are interested too, can visit their website. It’s only RM50 monthly. It’s just a few karaoke or movie outings less. Seriously, give it a think!!
P/s: If you are keen on sponsoring a child/doing any monetary donation, but is unwilling to cut down your karaoke session, your saviour is here.
P/p/s: Happy New Year!!! Hope 2009 is a better year for all of us, unlike the kiam 2008. Have a fruitful and memorable year ahead!! (^_^)
