Friendster blog - Things most people dunno about me

1. I hate tofu, beancurd... but I eat Japanese tofu...

2. I love potatoes, ie french fries, wedges, mashed potatoes, curry puff,... Apart from potatoes, I love Japanese cuisine. Yummy...

3. I have a good sense of direction, unless I'm in Singapore's HDB flats, where all of them look almost the same.

4. I need more time to differentiate where's left and where's right.

5. I'm blur... Recent evident:When someone said the girl in purple shirt, I turned around to see who's she. But it turned out to be I was the one.

6. I get bruised (blue-black) very easily and quite frequently without knowing when and how I got them.

7. I can be very gossipy, especially when I'm with my Smelly Gang.

8. I love dogs, especially puppies. Apart from that, I love teddy bears, especially those without fur-loss problem.

9. I'm quite rough sometimes. Proof no 1: My phone is currently a bit problematic. Proof no 2: I spoilt a laptop before and now, it was beyond hope. So, now I'm trying my best to be gentle, especially to my laptop.

10. I'll take a glance whenever I walk pass in front of a mirror, regardless of it size. You may call me vain, but this is what I do.

11. I've won the second place in inter-class singing competition when I was in primary three. The title of the song: It's a small world. Then around 5 years ago, my friends and I participated in a singing competition held in a small shopping complex, but it turned out to be a disaster.

12. I'm not good in crossing busy roads, especially when there are motorcycles zooming past. This makes me indecisive on when to cross.

13. The reason I chose Mechanical Engineering and not
• Electrical Eng - I don't like circuits when I'm in Form 5
• Chemical Eng - I don't want to go near the chemical, radioactive, flammable,... stuff
• Civil Eng - No for being under the sun
So, that was why I chose Mechanical Eng, without knowing much either about this course, when I first signed up.

Friendster blog - Singapore, here we come

Recently, with the commencing of the new semester, I've loads of work to do/attend. Last week I just attended the orientation WEEK. Why can't they just make orientation just for ONE day? I think this will be a win-win situation for both parties. No grumbling from the students, no sleeping late in the night and waking up long before the sun rises, the organisers can save much hassle preparing for this, and the list will be very long if I continue listing out the pros. Ok, I'll spare you all with the details of the orientation since the activities are sort of cyclic daily. Talks, briefing, talks, briefing, ... I'll go nuts if I attended all of this, so I skipped one or two of the activities/whenever I can. Finally, it has come to the 'end', where the last day I've skipped the activity, and to reward myself, I took a trip to overseas, or a more correct word-overstraits. Where? Singapore la... With JB just opposite the island, it's more convenient for me to cross the causeway than to go KL by the highway. This time, the trip (and mission) to S'pore was different compared with all my previous trips there. This time I've brought along two more person, Kai Kiat and Qian Fang. Unlike me (Johorean), this two lads from Ipoh seldom step their feet into the 'land of lions'. Since I'm in S'pore, I'd ask my best friend, Wee Chieh, to join us and also to be the guide as she's currently staying there. It's just the matter of time for her to get the PR status or even the citizenship there. Ish, betrayer... But still, never ask her for directions when you are in S'pore. Despite of her staying there for more than a year, she still don't know the ways around the small, tiny, minute island on the map. Oh, speaking of this, I remembered one of my previous trip to S'pore... Initially, our plan was to get to East Coast by bus, but guessed what happened? Yup, we didn't get to our destination and ended up getting down at Suntec City. Then the next day, we got lost at Orchard Road. Sigh... I was the victim and she blamed me for getting lost there as I have a better sense of direction. Hey, what kind of excuse reason is that? Haha... Okay, can't bad-mouth her much, otherwise my name will appear countless time in her blog and thus making me more popular than her in HER blog. But, speaking of the truth, this girl is very much an entertainer. She helped me to entertain my friends even though it was the first time she met them and she did a very good job. Thanks... Love ya... Now, I'll write about our one-day adventure in Singapore. Our first destination - Sim Lim Square as Qian Fang said he wanted to buy pendrive, but it turned out Singaporeans are not that into pendrives, thumbdrives or whatever-drives. We surveyed most of the shops there and it turned out either none of them sell it or they only sell certain brands-Imation and/or Sony. And the price, if converted to Malaysian Ringgit, it'll cost a bomb *ka-boom*, especially for Sony. Why MYR keep going down the slope? The value seems to be lesser and lesser as time goes by. Sigh... It ended up with QF buying only a camera case. Another proof to verify my statement about WC's sense of direction:Our meeting place was changed as she don't know how to get to Sim Lim Sq. Hmm... Seems like I can't go on with the every single detail, otherwise one/two page(s) are not enough for me. After having our lunch at Mos Burger and wandering around Bugis Junction (for the food fest), we were brought to Guan Yin temple. I'm ok with it, but I'm not sure how KK and QF felt. Hehe... Then, as the weather is unbearable, we brought them to Esplanade as the air-conditioning there is superb. There, I met with my 'long-lost' cousin, Zhi Xin, who just came back from UK. He happened to be there sightseeing, with his super professional camera dangling from his neck. A place not to be missed while visiting the theater at the bay is not the terrace rooftop, but is the Library @ Esplanade. Hehe... This is the main highlight for our trip to Esplanade, to show the Ipoh lads the high-techness of the Singapore's National Library. Then our next destination is Suntec City as i) it's in the vicinity and in short walking distance ii) QF intended to do shopping. But, is it shopping which we'll be doing there? Nope. The only place we stepped in is the McD, since WC was able to pay by tapping her ezlink card. Hehe... There, we chatted mostly about our secondary school years, comparing the difference between the school in big city (ACS, Ipoh) and the school in small town (Convent, Batu Pahat). Well, quite an eye-opener as I get to know more about the guys as we never chatted about this before. Haha... Then, with WC's recommendation, we went to Plaza Singapura to have our dinner there. This time, there is one more person joining our convoy, my cousin. The famous eatery outlet at the foodcourt in PS is the Riverside Indonesian BBQ, if I'm not mistaken. Their BBQ/grilled fish tops the list. But, KK decided to have fried carrot cake for dinner. The reason? He saw the long queue in front of the stall. It turned out that he's remorse on his impulsive decision, although he didn't say so. Then, WC concluded that delicious food does not equal to long queue. Sometimes the queue is long just because the chef is slow in preparing the food. After having our dinner and since the night is still young, we went to Orchard Road before we head back to Malaysia... Okay, I think that's all I can say about the Singapore trip as the remainder of the trip is better left unsaid. Anyway, thanks to Francis, Ho Sheng and Lih Horng for your generousity. Finally, Hsin Ching, the following lines are specially dedicated for you...

It's a season to be jolly...
La... La... La...

All the best to you and stay happy/blissful always...
